(This post is from the game played on April 15th)
The Maconaquah Middle School Braves competed well on Monday against the Wabash Apaches but came up just short of a win.
The young braves team were heading into the wind for the first half of the game which put them at a slight disadvantage. At the end of the first 35 min half, it was Wabash up 4-0. Ben Hahn had a great game in goal for the first half making several stops despite the score being what it was. Hailey Warren, Micah Hyde, David Gabrys and Dylan Baker held our back line and worked together well. Also coming in and playing a very good defensive game was Jayden Brunnemer and Katie Yocum.
In the second half, the Braves made adjustments well and played a much more competitive game. In goal in the second half was Dylan Baker, who played a strong goalie position only allowing one goal. Stepping up in the mid field were Jackson Jones, Issac Lorenz, Kristina Isebrand and Hayley Townsend. They played together well and controlled the middle of the field allowing us to get 2 goals, off the foot of Zach Sparks, back on the Apaches before the end of the game. Also working up front for the Braves was Lacey Freeman, Kendell Hewitt and Connor Kubly. Every player stepped up and played their position well last night, we still have some things to work on, but this team improves everyday and we can’t wait to see where it takes them.
Braves Red team is now 1-1
Braves Blue team is also 1-1
