Kokomo wasted no time exposing their game plan Wed night, racing to a 66-24 victory over the visiting Braves. It was 8-0 soon after the opening tip as every Kokomo rebound was sent deep for the fast break lay-up. The Braves made a brief run cutting the lead to 11-6 with some good looks inside but another blitz at the qtr’s end saw the Braves on the short end of an 18-6 score. If the Kats weren’t beating us down the court they were beating us with the trey bombs as they unleashed one of the best perimeter shooters the Braves have seen all season, sophomore Drew Swain, hit 3 of 4 attempts from downtown in the first half for a 33-13 lead at the half.
The Kats weren’t finished. The blitz continued in the 3rd qtr as Kokomo added a 20-4 advantage to their lead by extending its half-court zone and forcing turnover after turnover. #30 must’ve had double digit steals for the night as he seemed to catch more Brave passes than Braves.
Trenten Cobble led Brave scoring with 8 and Richard Riemer added 6. Mason Yoars, Hayden Williamson, Haiden Thompson and Mason Barnes rounded out the scoring with 4, 3, 2 and 1 respectively. Riemer had a team high seven rebounds.
Mac is back in action at home tomorrow (Thursday, 1/10/19) vs. Wabash. 6:15 tip-off.
