We were hosted last night by the Madison Grant Argylls for our seasonal scrimmage where the team finally had an opportunity to showcase their skills and compete against another team instead of just one another in order to reveal our strengths and areas needing growth in a game type format that limited what defenses could be ran each quarter. It was an exciting, hustle filled game full of thrills outscoring our competitors 41-25. We worked at contesting every shot on defense and finding the open player to take the shot on offense, often through an extra pass. Ball movement was a plus along with taking quality shots and having pressure defense. There is definitely excitement building. I feel like we have picked up where we left off or really taken another step or two forward from where last season ended. This team has the best chemistry of any time I have had the incredible opportunity to coach at Maconaquah and it shows on the floor. Their commitment to excellence in the pursuit of success is a driving factor along with the amount of leadership traits many girls demonstrate. These girls have great attitudes and work ethics, are focused, and bring energy every day, typically at another level. We will continue to seek improvement daily and stay united as a team playing all as one. We eagerly await our first game of the year here at home Saturday, November 9th @ 6pm JV tip time with Varsity to follow around @ 7:30pm. We urge you to please come out and support your Lady Braves who greatly appreciate all the energy and motivation you provide.
