The Maconaquah Lady Braves narrowly missed winning Thursday night at Tri-Central 32-38. Mac took control early with a 9-4 lead after the 1st quarter but Tri-Central, one of last year’s final four teams in 1A, used a 6-0 run at the end of the 2nd to take a 14-16 halftime lead. After an even 3rd quarter for both teams, where Kenadie Fernung was the solo scorer for the Trojans, she scored 6 of her game high 20 points in the 4th to seal the Lady Trojan win. Leading the Lady Braves were Lilly Maple with 15 points, 8 steals, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists. Alex Merritt was our Impact Player of the Game sponsored by the Chris Ousley All-State Agency in Peru. She ended the game with 9 points, shooting 3 of 4 from the charity stripe, and 9 rebounds helping the team dominate the offensive boards with 5 of their 15. Other contributors for the Lady Braves were Ashley Jess with 5 points and 4 rebounds, Averi Miller with 2 points, Tara Wagoner with 1 points, and Monica Moore with 8 rebounds and 5 steals. There was no JV game for tonight. The Lady Braves travel to Lewis Cass Saturday with the JV contest starting at 11am.
