The Braves welcomed the Blackford Bruins in for a doubleheader and earned a sweep winning game one 13-1 and game two 8-5. In game 1, Carra Wolf threw a solid complete 5 inning game giving up 3 hits, 1 earned run, 2 walks, and 11 strikeouts. Leading the offense was Carra Wolf going 3-4 with a single, 2 doubles, and 2 RBIs. Andrea Selleck was 2-2 with 2 doubles, 2 runs scored, and 3 RBIs. Aubree Mouser was 2-3 with 2 singles, 1 run scored, and 3 RBIs. Savanna Miracle was 2-2 with 2 singles, 1 walk, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI. Kaelynn Meyer was 2-4 with 2 singles and 2 runs scored. Mackenzie Butler was 1-3 with a single, run scored, and an RBI. Josie Pyke was 1-2 with a single, run scored, and a walk. Rounding out the offense for game 1 was Paige Swihart who was 1-2 with a walk, a single, 2 runs scored, and an RBI.
In game 2, the Braves were victorious 8-5 in a back and forth game that the Braves ended up winning with a 3 run 6th inning that pushed the game to its final tally of 8-5. Earning the win in the circle was Savanna Miracle who pitched 7 innings giving up 5 earned runs on 9 hits and 5 strikeouts. Leading the offense was Andrea Selleck who was 3-3 with 1 single, 2 doubles, and 4 RBIs. Kaelynn Meyer was 2-3 with 2 singles, 2 runs scored, a walk, and an RBI. Carra Wolf was 2-4 with a single, a double, 2 runs scored, and an RBI. Savanna Miracle was 1-4 with a single and an RBI. Lilly Maple was 1-4 with a single. Maddy Douglass was 1-3 with a single. Paige Swihart was 1-3 with a triple. Rounding out the offense in game 2 was Savannah Maston who was 1-2 with a single, 2 runs scored and a walk. The sweep of the doubleheader moves the Braves to 5-2 on the season. They have a full schedule next week starting with Culver Academies at home Monday and Logansport at home Tuesday both with the first pitch at 6:00. The Braves then begin TRC conference play Wednesday at Tippy Valley with the first pitch at 5:30.
