In a late game on Saturday night, Mac Boys Soccer beat Winamac 3-1. The team played a great game and were able to get 3 much needed goals on the night. The first goal was made by Jackson Jones after Bryan Teegardin had penetrated the goal box and had his legs taken out by a slide tackle. The ball pushed toward Jackson Jones, who smashed it into the net past the goalie. Winamac tied the game when a ball squirted thru the defense and a Winamac player was able to just squeeze it past goalie Seth Sparks. On the day, Seth had 3 saves, which speaks to the defense clearing the ball from the attacking team.
The 2nd goal for Mac came as Alex Smith placed a nice thru ball to Bryan Teegardin, his first attempt ricocheted off the goalie toward Zach Snyder, who played the ball in the air back toward Bryant. He was able to deflect the ball off his chest and on one bounce, kicked it from the air into the net.
The 3rd goal started by a throw in from Caleb Winegardner to Bryant. With a bicycle kick, he sent the ball toward the goal. After a couple of bounces off defenders, Jackson Jones got his 2nd goal on the day with the clean up.
The defense again and as usual was controlled by Nolyn Tubb. He, Caleb Winegardner and the rest of the defense consistently turned away the Winamac attack.
This win put the team at 4-3-1 on the season.
