OVERALL COMMENTS: The Braves came up with a big conference win over the defending TRC & Sectional Champs tonight. It was a team victory that showed the depth of our team. #1 Doubles, Hunter Hays & Mason Yoars, played a very tight first set against a good Wabash team and David Sayger battled in 3 set match vs. a quality opponent. Even though we didn’t win either one of these matches, we played right with our opponent during most of the match. We picked up quick victories at #3 Singles & #2 Doubles. Hayden Maiben secured our first point, only giving up one game. Maverick Butler & Wesley Yoars didn’t give up any games on their way to winning. The match came down to Cole Borden at #1 Singles. On one of the hottest afternoons, Cole played close to 3 hours as he would battle in two extremely close sets. Both the first and second set was determined by a few points. With the heat and windy conditions, Cole played through some tough situations. In the third set, Cole took charge and played more in rhythm. As he looked much more comfortable in that final set, Cole distanced himself from his opponent who was striking the ball very well tonight. There was a lot of quality points out there tonight between these two, and it was an intense and enjoyable match to watch.
