The Maconaquah C-Team Boys Basketball Team lost a thriller at Peru Monday night, 43-39. After a slow start found the Braves down 8-0 early the momentum swung in their direction resulting in a 30-22 Brave lead early in the fourth quarter. The Tigers responded with a rally of their own to take a39-36 lead with under a minute remaining. After a basket and a defensive stop the Braves got their last shot with under 10 seconds remaining. Had the shot fallen it would’ve resulted in a 40-39 lead with only a few ticks left. It rimmed out. The Tigers rebounded and were fouled and added a final bucket at the buzzer for the final spread.
The Braves were led by Nathan Harding with 12 including 6-6 from the charity stripe. Shemar Austin followed with 11. The two combined for 10 steals in a solid defensive back court effort. Harding added 7 assists. Graham Stoll led the Braves in rebounds with six.
The Braves will be back in action next Tuesday night in their home opener against Taylor at 6:00.
