The Mac Boy’s C-Team basketball team picked up it’s first win of the season tonight with a 40-33 victory at Eastern. Eight Braves scored in the game. Shemar Austin came off the bench to lead the scoring with 13 points followed by Elijah Alvarado with 8, John Dooley and Trenten Cobble scored 5 each, David Coleman had 4, J.P. Thomlison and Nate Harding each scored 2 and Graham Stoll had 1. The Braves jumped out to a 12-0 lead after the first qtr and never looked back. Coleman’s 18 footer at the buzzer gave the Braves a comfortable 21-6 lead at the half. An extra special hi-lite of the night came when Cobble made 3 of 4 ft attempts (he had a team low 6 of 25 fts during week 1 of practice) and, even more special, he got to show case the fruits of his hard work in the presence of his uncle, one of Maconaquah’s All-time leading scorers, Phillip Garnett, who paid a surprise visit from Kansas City, MO, where he now resides. A great night for a big win!
The C-Team Braves will not be back in action until Jan 3, 2018 at Mississinewa.
