Boys Varsity Track · Boys Track Sees 3 Sectional Champs, Takes 3rd in Sectionals

We were on a mission to produce great performances last night and we did all across the board. Couldn’t be any happier for these guys or prouder in all their efforts they have put in this season that has paid off. Our sectional champions are as follows: Nolan Kelly in the 400 dash with a :52.1, Corbin Middlekauff in the high jump at 6-0, and Braidon Walton in the pole vault at 12-9 PRing by a foot.

We also had two sectional runner ups in Chance Hagan in the 800 with a 2:04.99, which is his PR in the event by 4 seconds, and in our 4×800 team consisting of Chance, Nolan, Sam Bourne, and Hayden Maiben posting a 8:33.73 which was a 12 second PR for them seeing each guy PR on their split time and just a few seconds off our school record. Our last regional qualifier, from one of the at-large spots, was Paxton Kintner in the discus finishing 4th with a 140′ 05″.

Others scoring points for the Braves were Corbin Middlekauff PRing in the pole vault as well with a 11′ 9″ jump securing himself 4th place in the event but just missing out on the regional bid by 1 place, 3 inches shy. Sam Bourne finished 6th in the 800 and 1600 PRing with a 4:47.98.  Our 4×400 team, Hagan, Middlekauff, Kelly, Bourne, PRd at 3:38.12 which was good enough to take 5th. Adam Bowman took 5th in the shot put, Porter Hunt held 7th in the 3200, and Zach Bullock finished 8th in the 300 hurdles.

Last but not least we had 2 other athletes PR on the night in Hayden Maiben and Cory Bockover. Hayden finished with a 5:12.48, a 3 second PR, and Cory shaved 6 seconds off his previous PR posting a 12:53.4.
