The Braves seemed to have a better day of sectionals on Friday at Kokomo High School and perform more to their level of expectation for whatever reason after the meet was delayed on Thursday due to lightning. The Braves started out a little shaky but were able to find some level of comfort and shine. Tyler Dietzel was the lone champion and regional advancer for the Braves in the 800m run with a time of 2:03. Tyler is talented and has worked extremely hard these past 4 years to put himself in a position to move on. We couldn’t be happier to see a great kid like Tyler achieve what he has been able to accomplish. The Braves also had two athletes place and record PRs in their prospective events with Slate Boggs placing 6th in the 300m hurdles with a 43.9 and Fletcher Williams placing 7th in the 3200m run with a time of 11:09. Others scoring for the Braves were Chance Hagan in 6th in the 800, Christian Frakes in 7th in the 100, Adam Rood in 8th in the 3200, and Tyler Dietzel in 4th in the 1600. The 4×8 and 4×4 relay teams consisting of Tyler Dietzel, Chance Hagan, Linden Brown, and Jordan Edgington finished 4th and 6th respectfully. The Braves are proud of the season they just completed but should have to some extent an unquenched thirst and determination to get better in the off-season to be even stronger next season. The regionals will take place at Kokomo High School at 6:00 pm on Thursday, May 25th.
