Game Recap

The Braves basketball team won at least a share of the TRC Championship last night at Northfield on their Senior Night. We established a lead in the first half, but we couldn’t stretch that single digit lead out. Give Northfield credit because they have players who are hard to guard. Their big guy matches up well with us, and they have some good shooters. We were able to get some big posessions defensively in the 3rd quarter, and we were doing an excellent job of working the offense for efficient shots. We were finally able to get a 10 point lead in the 4th quarter, but that quickly was erased by the Norsemen as they countered with a 10-1 run. Down the stretch, we kept our composure and connected on most of our free throws. Wyatt Hughes led us in the scoring column with 19 points. Chandler Pitts and Ethan Larason had 14 each, and Bryce Ward had 12 points. Chance Hagan did an excellent job on both ends of the court. Robert Dunham and Conner Middlekauff contributed some valuable minutes for our team, and Robert nailed a 3 pointer. Great job boys. “You have to deserve success.” We have talked a lot about this as a team this season. Through our wins and losses this season, I can proudly say that this group of boys deserves this championship. Time to focus on the rest of our goals. Success is born out of confidence, but greatness comes from humility. #bravepride
