The Maconaquah 7th grade boys basketball team won the Peru Invitational on Saturday.
In the first game the Braves defeated Whitko 43-24. Brayden Betzner led a balanced attack with 9 points, Brennan Bailey had 8, Hayden Maiben with 6, Auston Douglas had 5, Gavin Love with 4, Hayden Williamson with 3 points and Braden Bailey, Walker Hays, Mason Yoars, Mason Barnes had 2 points a piece.
In the championship game the Braves jumped to an 18-4 lead at the end of the first quarter over Peru and never looked back with a 42-27 victory. The Braves were led in scoring by Gavin Love with 18 points, Brayden Betzner with 10 points, Hayden Maiben with 9 points, Hayden Williamson and Mason Yoars with 2 points a piece and Brennan Bailey with 1 point.
The Braves played at Rochester Monday at 6pm and there record now stands at 10-3 on the season.
