Game Recap

We’ve been anticipating this game for the past 15 days and several thought it was going to be another great game like the first one. I can say with great confidence that this game lived up to its expectations. Our fans and student section were on fire tonight. It was great to have the support as we needed it in our rally. Peru did a good job of keeping us from our game plan. Wyatt got in early foul trouble, and we were forced to play a lot of the first half without our big man. We went into halftime down 12 and in foul trouble. After some halftime adjustments and staying out of foul trouble, the comeback was on. I commend the boys for their “Refuse to Lose” attitude. They established the tone in the middle of the 3rd quarter and didn’t let up. I’m proud of the boys and their drive to not let up even when things weren’t going our way. Chandler Pitts led us in the points column with 22 and grabbing 7 boards. Chandler did a great job of controlling the game and taking opportunities when he had them. Wyatt Hughes had 13 points and 8 rebounds. His defense was amazing tonight as he made it very difficult for Peru to score in the lane. Ethan Larason had 11 points and 10 rebounds. Nice way to finish the game. That dunk was legit, but the block might have even been better. Chance Hagan did a great defensive job on Johnson from Peru. Chance made it difficult for Johnson to get good looks. That was a huge key to this game. Bryce Ward also played big inside for us and picked up some valuable experience playing some good defense. Both Chance and Bryce each had 5 points for us. And getting the Impact Player of the Game Award tonight is our fans/cheerblock. You did a great job even before the game started. Parker would be proud. It’s a great night to be a Brave. #bravepride
