Game Recap

The Lady Braves were able to capture their first victory of the night. This was the closest they have come to executing the game plan and it showed. They played with heart and guts. They also played smart and never let go of the lead. The girls did a tremendous job on the defensive end and got to their blockouts for the most part and were rewarded for it. They hustled by putting their bodies on the line and were determined to win persevering through adversity at the end of the game. The Braves handled themselves with enough composure, stamina, and belief to finish out the game with a win. This group of girls haven’t been in a situation like this in a game setting and it was great to see them see it through and triumph. The key thing is we saw that light bulb switch on today and we grew immensely. Now the big question is how are we going to respond after the fact. The Braves shot 45 free throws on the night and connected on 5 straight at the end of the game to preserve the win. They also tripled their average assists per game today and had 7 players score 3 points or more. Our A&A Graphics Impact Player of the Game was Renae Stoll who connected on 5 of 5 free throws at the end of the game to seal the victory. She also drew the hardest assignment of the night to guard Hailey Holiday and hold her to 3 points under her average. She would tell you though she didn’t do it alone as every girl on the court had to assist in guarding her in some fashion. She also finished with the first of her varsity career and the team’s first double double with 11 points and 15 rebounds. She also contributed with 2 assists. Kate White led the team in scoring with 12 points. She also had 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals. Other key contributors were Courtney Turcheck with 11 points, 1 rebound, and 1 assist. Syenna Powell with 6 points, 7 rebounds, and a steal. Kirsten Dinn had 6 points, 3 rebounds, an assist, and a charge. Brittany Lamb had 4 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists. Josie Pyke rounded out the Brave Charge with 3 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, and a steal. The Lady Braves face Oak Hill at home next Tuesday, December 6th at 6:00 JV tip time.
