The Whitko Wildcats took advantage of four Maconaquah turnovers early in the game
and jumped out to a 28-0 lead at the 9:41 mark of the second quarter.
The Brave defense shut down the Wildcats in the final 24 minutes as Whitko’s only
score came via Hunter Reed’s 73-yard scamper with 10:50 left in the game.
Maconaquah’s lone tally came on the opening play of the fourth period when
senior Joe Ferry bolted in from four yards out at the 11:56 mark. Ethan Larason
added the PAT, cutting Whitko’s lead to 28-7.
Matt Scott set up the Brave score with 35-yard interception return late in the third
quarter. Ferry’s score capped a 46-yard 11-play drive Jarred Spohn, who led the Braves
with 45 yards on 14 carries spearheaded the scoring drive along with a clutch 13-yard
fourth down pass from Cody Koebler to Gemini Williams.
The Braves dropped to 0-3 on the year and travel to Wabash Friday night.
